She is a daughter, student, teacher, CEO, and philanthropist, who is brilliant, passionate and beautiful. She personifies strength and knows her worth and value. She has a stand in the world and positions herself to be an impact agent, trendsetter and influencer.
Karen is an empowerment agent who believes in our ability to harness and utilize the power of our minds and knowledge, to create a life of truth andauthentic expression. At the age of 16 The Bowtie Gurl Founder and Chief Statement Maker Karen Prescod, began her love affair with fashion and design. While in her native country of Trinidad and Tobago, Karen wanted to take Automotive Mechanic classes in school, however girls weren’t allowed to take those classes. Karen ended up in a dress making and design class, where she excelled and found a love for fashion and design that stayed with her throughout the rest of her life.
In November 2017, she launched The Bowtie Gurl a fashionand lifestyle brand, centered on personal creative expression. Wearing a bowtie is about how it makes you feel and what message you want to convey. It is about being empowered in your own personal truth, and expressing that truth creatively through fashion.
